Deepavali Celebrations




Dear Samaj Bhandavas,
Deepavali was celebrated with religious fervour and festivities on 20th Oct.06 at,Dr.Narmada Dayananda Senior Citizen Home.Satyanarayna Pooja was also conducted on that day in the evening followed by Prasad distribution.

Annual Day Celebrations




Dear Samaj Bhandav,
Annual Day was celebrated at Dr.Narmada Dayananda Kamath Senior Citizen Home on 17thSept.06 to mark the completion third year of successful functioning of the Home.As a part of the celebration there was Satyanarayana Pooja followed by Mahaprasad and lunch.A large number of Samaj Bhandavas including the residents of the Home, members of the Board of Trustees of M/s Anugraha Charitable Trust and their friends and relatives attended the function.

Onam Celebrations

Onam was celebrated with pomp and gaity by the Seniors,staff,relatives and friends at Dr.Narmada Dayananda Kamath Senior Citizen Home on 5th Sept ,06



The day started with laying "Pookkalam"- a rangoli with various flowers.There were many varieties of games and competitions in which Seniors as well as staff and others whole heartedy participated.



The function ended with a gala "Onam Sadya " a sumptuopus feast .The menu included the famous malayalee dishes such as "kalan" ,"Thoran","kichadi","pachadi" and "palada"

Book Distribution

REPORT ON BOOK DISTRIBUTION - 2006


Dear Samaj Bhandhav,


More than 900 students belonging to the poorer section of the society from Ernakulam, Kochin, Palluruthy, Andikkadavu, Thuravoor, Chellanam, Vypeen, Cherai etc were given free books, umbrellas, and other educational kits at Ernakulam.

Sri N R Pai, Chief Executive Officer, Aspinwall and Company Ltd and President of Kerala Management Association inaugurated the function on 4th June 2006. Sri S Prabhakara Prabhu distributed various awards and scholarships. Sri R Gopinatha Naick, Secretary presided the meeting and explained about the growth of the Trust from a small outfit started in 1997 to a gigantic tree with many branches giving solace to the poor and needy.
Dr Praveen G Pai, Kollam welcomed the gathering and Sri C Surendranath Naick, Trustee proposed vote of thanks.


Trust has also distributed similar kits at Kuzhupilli and Alleppy. Trust had extended help by providing note books to other community outfits viz, Kudumbi Seva Sangham , Vyshya Samaj and Saraswath Association, Kochi


Counseling for more than 125 students who have completed Xth standard was also held in association with Sree Saraswathi Institute f science and Technology under Jeevith Santwan (counseling center).

(ii) Dr Narmada & Dayanand Kamath Endowment Scheme – Providing note books umbrellas at Alleppy and Cherai, uniforms, text books etc in alternate years and fees to the deserving school students.
(iii) Diwan Peshkar Madhava Prabu and family Endowment Scheme – Providing help in Education
(iv) Pallankadavu Anantha Mallya Endowment Scheme - Providing help in Education

Foundation stone laying of NDHC


Sri S Prabhakara Prabhu laid the foundation for a 38 flat Dr Narmada & Dayanand Kamath Free Housing Complex on 17th March 2006, Friday at 8 am. The project coming up at Pandikudi, Kochi-2 will be completed in 12 months period.

Sri R Bhaskar Shenoi, President welcomed the gathering. Sri S Prabhakara Prabhu, the chief guest explained about the project. Secretary of the Trust, Sri R Gopinatha Naick proposed vote of thanks.

Obituary


M Sarvothama Prabhu, 88 years, son of late Diwan Peshkar Madhava Prabhu, Vembrakatt House, Chittoor Road, Ernakulam and an inmate of Dr Narmada Dayanand Senior Citizens' Home, passed away on 14th Feb'2006 at 8.30 am. He is survived by his wife, Smt Vimala Prabhu, son Dileep and daughter Dr Sheela (USA).

Trust has launched its official website - www.anugraha.gsb.in which gives a comprehensive decsription of our activities.

The Board of Trustees wish to place on record our sincere thanks to the webdesigner & webmaster, Sri K V Kamath who took lot of initiative in bringing this site in record time.

Sri Kamathmam is one of the resident of our Dr Narmada Dayanand Kamath Senior Citizens' Home at Ernakulam and is activiley involved in many social activities.

Vastradanam







Anugraha Charitable Trust providedVastradanam by way of donating clothes to elders belonging to weaker section of our society on 3rd Febraury'2006 at 9.00 am(Aarath - festival day of Ernakulam Thirumala Devaswom). Sri K Ranga Bhat one of our Trustee is sponsoring one set of new clothes every year to more than 200 elders in memory of his beloved parents Devaki & Krishna Bhat.
